Shawshank Redemption tarring roof scene

1. I don't exactly understand what they are talking bout. But I think we should express our feeling courageously . That's what I learn from it.
2.People having courage are stronger. Power must be taken away someday.But if we are not afraid ,the courage won't disappear.
